Northhead Lighthouse is located in Illwaco, WA in Cape disappointment State Park. I was trying to get the composition for the image that I wanted. Was trying different angles, distance, focal length. While working on the composition, suddenly it clicked in my right brain to make it an HDR. Seeing the texture on the lighthouse, the moods formed by the clouds, the color, I decided to try the inbuilt HDR function of my new Nikon D7100. To click an HDR image with camera’s inbuilt function, we have to set the image file to JPEG from NEF( I generally shoot RAW) and set the HDR mode on. And then focus your subject, and press the shutter, and the camera will process a HDR image for you. It is that simple. I was shooting handheld as I left my tripod in the car. It was sunset time, but wasn’t dark enough to shoot handheld.
